Funeral services were held Wednesday for Bernice Solomon, 96, of Kermit who died Saturday, Feb. 21.

Mr. Solomon was born in Freestone county on June 12, 1912 to Wade and Jerrel (Jackson) Solomon.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Kermit with Dudley Mullins and Rev. H.L. Lewis officiating.

Interment with military honors followed at Kermit Cemetery.

Mr. Solomon is survived by his wife, Atherrilla (Mims) Solomon of Kermit; sons, Bernice Solomon, Jr. of Dallas, McQuester James Solomon of Odessa and Thomas Jefferson Solomon of Kermit; daughters, Gloria Harden of Ft. Worth, Jerrel Mae Solomon of Dallas, Rilla Jean Davis of Garland, Schequita Upshaw of Mesquite and Bernetchia Cooper of Dallas; sister, Bette Lee Smith of Lancaster; 18 grandchildren; and a host of greatgrandchildren and greatgreat grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in honor of Mr. Solomon to the First Baptist Church of Kermit at 400 E. Bryan, Kermit, TX, 79745.
