Aside from flipping the locations of games, the Fairfield high school Eagles varsity football schedule for next fall is the same as the team played in 2008.

FHS head coach just put the finishing touches on the new schedule.

The Eagles open the 2009 gridiron season at home against China Spring on Aug. 28, which will be Parents' Night, then hit the road for three weeks to face, in order, Ferris, Gatesville and Rusk.

Homecoming is the fifth weeks of the season, Sept. 25, against Crandall and the next Friday, Oct. 2, is open to prepare for the start of District 20-AAA competition.

District games are Oct. 9 at home against Palestine, Oct. 16 at home against Brownsboro, Oct. 23 at Athens, Oct. 30 at Palestine Westwood and Nov. 6 at home against Crockett.

Practices for the 2009 football season start Aug. 3. Scrimmages are Aug. 15 against West and Aug. 21 against Teague and Kerens.

Piske reports that the location for scrimmages has yet to be determined.
