Abstinence to be discussed
Programs stressing abstinence from sexual activity by teenagers is scheduled this month in Fairfield for students and their parents.
Aim for Success, Inc., of Dallas will present motivational programs in three settings at the Fairfield high school auditorium.
Parents may attend from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, and the next day girls will be presented the program at 9 a.m. and boys will attend at 10:30 a.m.
The student programs address the problems of teen pregnancies, escalating sexually transmitted disease epidemic and emotional pain often associated with teen sexual activity.
The parent program is a preview of the student presentation where parents learn creative ways to talk about sex with their children and encourage them to avoid sexual activity until marriage.
"This is a must see event for anyone concerned about the problems associated with teen sexual activity," Marilyn Morris, Aim for Success president, says.
The motivation pro- grams have been presented the past 15 years to more than a million young people across the United States on topics such as sex, drugs and alcohol.
Community guests are welcome to attend.
