FHS powerlifters open '09 season
Fairfield high school powerlifters competed for the first time this season at a meet held Saturday at China Spring.
The boys placed sixth as a team at the meet and for the first time in a few years Fairfield entered a girls' team.
Powerlifting is scored by totaling pounds hoisted in three events, squat, bench press and dead lift.
"This was the first meet for girls at Fairfield. These girls represented Fairfield extremely well," coach John Bechtel says.
Head coach for the teams is Kevin Childers.
