Eagles earn spots on academic teams

Two members of the 2008 Fairfield high school Eagles varsity football team have been named to the Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State Football Team.

Selected to first team is senior wide receiver Daniel Wilson and making second team is senior offensive lineman Jesse Peine.

The academic teams are selected by a point system that awards points for grade point average, class rank and SAT or ACT score.

Student/athletes are placed on teams according to the number of points they have earned.

Nominees must be senior students with an overall GPA of 92 or more, including grades 9-12 and the first six weeks of grade 12, be a member of the team in good standing and be of good moral character.
