To commemorate civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a parade will be held Saturday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. in downtown Mexia.

Lineup will begin at 9:30 a.m. in front of the First United Methodist Church at Commerce and Canton Streets.

All vehicles, motorcycles, four-wheelers, horses and walkers are welcome.

Following the parade, a program featuring guest speakers, choirs, soloists and praise dancers will be held at the Mexia Civic Center, located at the corner of Main and McKinney.
