Fairfield Industrial Development Corporation teams up with Navarro College to offer a free workshop on how to start a small business.

The workshop is from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Fairfield Civic Center in W.L. Moody Reunion Grounds.

Presenting the workshop is Robin Lasher, director of the NC Small Business Development Center.

The development center provides free and low cost training for small businesses as part of its charter.

Topics to be covered include exploring the feasibility of a business idea, registering a business, choosing a legal form of ownership, filing proper permits and licenses, and evaluating financial options.
