Letters to the Editor
Dear Editor:
What a wonderful group of people have joined "New Leash on Life," helping to save lives and provide safe and comfortable homes for some of the abused and abandoned animals in this area. (I seem to get calls almost daily from people needing foster homes for animals that have been dumped on them or that they found in the cold.) Some of the members of this group are on very fixed budgets but still manage to help with the animals.
I would like to thank them, especially Cindy, Mac and Sharon! Their caring and generous gift of their time has saved so many lives!
It truly warms my heart to see and hear stories of adoptive owners sharing their love with an animal. These precious animals have so many needs, but mainly love. They give their love so unconditionally! It is said that having an animal companion can actually add years to your life. It is a responsibility and work, but when those warm, loving, protective eyes meet yours, you will be rewarded.
Spending a little time to train and work with them is so easy. Please consider fostering or adopting an animal. They add so much fun and love to a home!
I would like to urge pet owners to please give your animal a warm, safe place for comfort and protection. They need clean water and food, along with shelter. I have seen several dogs chained or on ropes with no visible shelter and overturned bowls. Please realize all animals have needs, and urge those around you to take care of their pets!
Merry Christmas to all!

P.S. Please join me in thanking The Fairfield Recorder for helping spread the word about our precious animals.
