Annabelle Red Funeral services were held Tuesday for Annabelle "Becky" Red, 84, of Palestine who died Saturday, Nov. 22, at Greenbrier Nursing Center. Mrs. Red was born in Palestine on Feb. 19, 1924, to Edward H. and Clara V. Jones Wood. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Palestine, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Japonica Garden Club. Mrs. Red was also selfemployed. Services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Bailey and Foster Chapel with Rev. Bruce Hay officiating. Burial followed at Fairfield Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers included Melvin Mason, Bill Haney, John Fowler, Bob Leonard, Tom Thorn, Terry Thorn and Steve Thorn. Mrs. Red is survived by her daughter, Sherrie Fowler and husband John of Palestine; sister, Joyce Thorn and husband Tom of Palestine; grandchildren, Kimberly Fowler, Beth Leonard and husband Bob; great-grandchildren, Tony Fowler, Veronica Fowler, Anabel Fowler, Daisy Fowler, Hannah Leonard and Sarah Leonard. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward H. and Clara V. Jones Wood; husband, Delbert Winston Red; brothers, Fred Wood and William Henry Wood; sisters, Rena Mae Wood and Virginia Eversole. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Palestine at 422 S. Magnolia in Palestine. Arrangements were made by Bailey and Foster Funeral Home of Palestine. |
