Fundamentals and competition . . . Girls’ hoop camp conducted

Aspiring basketball players participated and won awards last week in the 2010 Fairfield Lady Eagles Camp.

The camp was conducted by Fairfield high school Lady Eagles head coach Stephen Heers and staff at Johnson Activity Center.

Campers took part in mass drills, 1-on-1 instruction and daily competitions.

Bodybuilding trophy won by FHS grad

A four and a half year stint in the navy, and regular workouts in Fairfield, helped 2005 FHS graduate Jean Farias earn his first trophy in bodybuilding this month.

Farias placed fifth at his first competition, the 2010 Fitness Training Studios Natural Fitness

roduction Championships held July 17 in Austin.

Athletes and musicians at Fairfield high school report to summer practices Monday to start preparations for the fall sports and band season.

Prospective football players report at 6:15 a.m., freshmen to the locker room next to the weight room and athletes in grades 10-12 to the locker room in Johnson Activity Center.
